Samsung Galaxy Flip 6 review: A slightly better foldable aimed at everyone
Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip series has always tempted me more than the Z Fold. Maybe it's the flip-phone nostalgia taking hold; maybe it's the fact that I don't want to watch video inside a square; maybe it's simply the Z Flip's more palatable price. The Z Flip series has launched in tandem with the Z Fold for several years, but often with specifications that put it around the bottom of each flagship family, including the traditionally shaped Galaxy S family. As we mentioned in our Z Fold 6 review, there's more foldable competition than ever. In fact, in the face of Motorola's most recent foldables, while Samsung is doing something, is it enough? While Z Flip 6's design has remained largely the same, Samsung made several under-the-hood upgrades this year, with improved battery life and cameras.

Country stars sound alarm on 'Wild West' of AI in music; exec talks taking legal action
Country star Tracy Lawrence talks about his experience using AI and why he thinks there needs to be more regulations while appearing at the ACM Awards. At the heart of most talented singers is their innate ability to write meaningful music. In the country music world, there is a premium for artists who can not only sing but write their own hits, so for some country stars, the concept of artificial intelligence being used in the music industry is nonsense. "I would struggle to think something that couldn't feel could really write a song, to make somebody else feel," musician Riley Green told Fox News Digital of the threat of AI in music at the ACM Awards. "I mean, the world's always going to change. Nothing's worth freaking out over, I think is the main thing. Riley Green is wary of music written by AI, questioning how much people would be able to take away from it. AI HAS KEANU REEVES, HARRISON FORD, ELON MUSK'S EX-GIRLFRIEND GRIMES AT ODDS OVER ITS USE Nate Smith isn't exactly concerned with AI infiltrating the music scene. Other artists have fears over AI's involvement within the industry. I played around with … a little bit of the AI stuff," Tracy Lawrence told Fox News Digital.
Lenovo Smart Clock Deal: $30 Off Our Fave Nightstand Display
They let you watch videos or news clips, walk step by step through recipes, display photos, play music, or ask it questions with different sized screens to meet your needs. Lenovo's Smart Clock (which we rated a 7/10) is our favorite for the bedroom. The Smart Clock typically sells for $80, which is already on the lower end of the price point for smart displays, and right now it's on sale for $50 at Best Buy and Walmart. If you've been considering it, it's a good time to buy. It's a good first smart display, too, if you aren't sure how many screens you want to add to your life.
10 must watch videos illustrating amazing applications of artificial intelligence
Artificial Intelligence has advanced over the years and it has transformed the world completely. Machines are becoming smarter each time and they are very intuitive and can perform a number of tasks at the same time without reducing their efficiency. Are you wondering what artificial intelligence is and what it can do? Look at self-driven cars which used to be imagination and are now a reality. Activities like booking appointments can now be done by machines and we have drones which can deliver orders to people's homes.
China just got its first virtual TV news anchor: Watch video
China's Xinhua news agency has become the first to receive a virtual news anchor for its TV channel, and it looks quite real. The news anchor is a male that has been modeled after one of the male news anchors at Xinhua news agency. And the virtual anchor can read the the news as text entered by the news agency. The virtual anchor has human like facial expressions, and reads the news in a synthesized voice that makes it more plausible than anything before. This news anchor was created by the Xinhua news agency of China in collaboration with the Chinese search engine company Sogou.
10 Must watch videos on Applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Self-driving cars are no longer a figment of our imagination, they are here! As Google Duplex showed recently, machines can now book appointments for us, all the while sounding completely like a human! Drones have the ability to deliver orders to our doorstep and robots are taking over manufacturing and shipping functions. The world is well and truly being transformed by the far reaching potential and applications of Artificial Intelligence. From Boston Dynamic's robots to Amazon's AI solutions, machines are getting smarter, more intuitive and capable of multi-tasking without dropping their efficiency levels. In this article, we will take a look at a list of videos that show the level of intelligence, today's machines are capable of.
Quant funds and a trillion dollar question of risk Inside Financial & Risk
Quant funds are expected to account for US$1 trillion in assets this year. But when algorithms are managing this money, who manages the algorithms? Computer-powered, data-driven strategies have continued their spectacular march towards dominating the hedge fund industry. According to research by HFR, the amount of money being managed by quant hedge funds rose to more than $940 billion by the end of October 2017 and is on course to pass the $1 trillion at some point this year. This is an enormous amount of money being managed by machines.
Artificial Intelligence: Is it actually intelligent? Inside Financial & Risk
A few weeks ago, Jochen Leidner, Director of Research at Thomson Reuters, discussed and dissected artificial intelligence (AI). Leidner offered some case studies, conducted by his team, to demonstrate successful ways of building AI products. However, before getting into specifics, Leidner gave a very brief explanation of what AI is and what it does. "It automates things that we deemed, maybe, not automatable a couple of years ago – if it works, or to an extent." Dr. Leidner, who is also the Royal Academy of Engineering Visiting Professor of Data Analytics at the University of Sheffield, made the point very early on that AI is a tool to be utilized with other forms of intelligence.

Matroid can watch videos and detect anything within them
If a picture is worth a thousand words, a video is worth that times the frame rate. Matroid, a computer vision startup launching out of stealth today, enables anyone to take advantage of the information inherently embedded in video. You can build your own detector within the company's intuitive, non-technical, web platform to detect people and most other objects. Reza Zadeh, founder of Matroid, is an Adjunct Professor at Stanford who has toiled with the idea of a startup for the last decade -- just now jumping in the ring to catch the wave of democratization in the computer vision space. Matroid's comfort zone is picking out specified objects from video, rather than extracting insights from satellite or medical imagery. Instead of whipping out TensorFlow or Google Cloud's new Video Intelligence API, users simply upload a custom training set or choose from a curated library of hundreds of millions of images to establish their detector.
